Dr. BrieAnna S. Langlie

Dr. Langlie is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Binghamton University. Her research is focused on the origins and long-term sustainability of agricultural systems and foodways. She specializes in paleoethnobotany and landscape archaeology in the Andes Mountains of South America. In her research she has studied the domestication of quinoa, cultivating of ancient potatoes, the development of terrace farming, and how farmers have responded to climate changes across time. She directs the Laboratory of Ancient Food and Farming at Binghamton University.
