Dr. BrieAnna S. Langlie

Dr. Langlie is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Binghamton University. Her research is focused on the origins and long-term sustainability of agricultural systems and foodways. She specializes in paleoethnobotany and landscape archaeology in the Andes Mountains of South America. She has been carrying out research on farming in the Lake Titicaca Basin for over a decade. There, she has studied the domestication of quinoa, potatoes, the development of terrace farming, and how farmers have responded to climate changes. She directs the Laboratory of Ancient Food and Farming at Binghamton University.
