Weather monitoring
During our 2025 field season, we installed remote weather stations in Achoma to document environmental conditions in the region in real-time. This project is one way in which we are partnering with the community to bridge our research on farming in the past with farming practices today.
Data collected by the weather stations is available in real-time through an online dashboard to allow farmers to track live conditions. Over time, this data will help us to better understand long-term trends in weather patterns in Achoma and how those might be changing in response things like ENSO cycles and changing climates.
